Progressive Die Stamping

When a product will experience volumes greater than 100,000 units per year and a form factor which will support an investment in Progressive Dies, customers may recognize significant cost savings by introducing Progressive Die Stamping. A progressive die is utilized on a long bed, mechanical press. Material is fed from a coil into a die which utilizes different stations for sequential operations to be performed. At each station within the die, a different feature is added to the strip of material until the final operation ejects a finished part.
The Characteristics your project may include:

  • Small form factor
  • High volumes > 100,000 per year
  • Higher tooling investment
  • Low per piece cost
  • Longer start-up times
  • Can achieve tight tolerances
